Fly-ash briquettes

Fly-ash from electric furnaces and convertors are a by-product of steel and cast iron manufacturing. They are noted for their relatively high content of oxides of iron which, however, are not exploitable in the form of dust.

Through the briquettization process the fly-ash can be converted from the dust state into a shape that makes their further industrial use possible.

Our technology enables the processing of diverse dry dusts combined with the materials of larger grain size, the best size being 0-6 mm. This results in polycomponent briquettes that, due to their properties, become a valuable input material for various industrial applications.

The briquettization process itself is preceded by the preparatory stage based on client consultations with the aim of finding an optimum composition of briquette mixture and bonding agent system.

According to the nature of the briquetted material and customer's needs, we can choose among several proven organic and inorganic bonding systems. After the preparatory stage, a stage of testing proposed prescriptions follows. That means in reality that a couple of small briquette series are made as per various prescriptions and after the briquettes harden, their physical and chemical properties are evaluated. After the evaluation is carried out the optimum prescription is selected and is subsequently used for briquetting on an industrial scale.

Our briquetting equipment enables the mixing of up to 4 various raw materials simultaneously.
